Dedicating Adley

Has something ever grabbed your attention in a way that changes you?  Grabs you and shows you something that's been that way all along but somehow you are seeing it for the very first time.
We had Adley's dedication at church last Sunday and for me it was a changing point.  I can't explain why but it has affected the very core of my being.  The words, the charge, the people surrounding us with support and coming alongside us, committing to be on this journey with us to ensure our daughters will know Jesus Christ.  Baby dedications can often be ceremonial, a check mark on the list of first year milestones, the importance of what they represent overlooked in the process.

It truly changed me. My eyes were opened and I have to respond. Everything about this week has been different and it's my prayer that I do my part to keep it this way. I'm getting up earlier and staying up later but this is a very worthy cause. I'm rising at the first signs of daybreak, the house is still and quiet. Not a noise can be heard but I engage in warfare.  I'm fighting for my family while they sleep soundly in their beds.

Adley is dedicated.  I am dedicated.

Opening her first bible.

Matt's dad and Kathy celebrating Adley with us.

Adley has started pulling faces close to hers when you hold her.  I love it.  Hurts a little when she gets a fist full of hair in the process though.

The three other babies that were dedicated along with Adley, former members of a small group we were in for several years.  We started as a young married group with no babies and dedicated these four together.

About Me

My photo
This blog is my hope to somehow capture moments that would have otherwise passed unnoticed, gone by simply dismissed as mundane life. I'm just a girl who adores her husband, I love the job I get paid for and am inspired by the ones I don't. I love that God has designed my life as a perfect fit for me and today I get to live it!
