Friday I got some errands, chores, and laundry done after my morning workout. I am very excited about a purchase I made for our bedroom. I found the perfect rug to match our unique color scheme. Now if I could just get rid of those vertical blinds. One thing at a time though.
Friday evening on our way to our small group bible study we ate at Five Guys (mmmmmmmm.......). At group we had a great time visiting with everyone, but also learning about silence with God. It's was wonderful.
Saturday we slept in and then hit the road to Port Richey. Matt got new tires for his car and we went to lunch with Mark and Kathy while we were there. On our way back home we stopped in to visit Oma. Matt took care of some things for her, and we were on our way. Once home we changed clothes and headed to the gym. Later we cooked and ate dinner together, followed by a Christmas movie and cookies on the couch.
Sunday we went to the early service, stopped by Wal-Mart for some things, took Matt to get a haircut, and made sandwiches for lunch at home all by 11:30am. We put the final trimmings on some Christmas decorating and then began to clean out closets, go through old clothes, and Matt cleaned up and straighted the garage. We filled my SUV to the top and took a full load to the Salvation Army.
On the surface our house doesn't look much different, but it feels a little less cluttered and more organized and that makes me happy. We realize we will have to maximize our storage space in the months to come as our family grows, so we were trying to at least get a start on it now.
Sunday evening we had a "date night" out. We went to a nice dinner followed by the "Love Came Down at Christmas" concert with Jars of Clay. The music, stories of the birth of our savior, cold weather, hot tea, all snuggled near my main squeeze really sparked the Christmas spirit for me.
